Year 6 Roundup
Year 6 have been looking at adding and subtracting fractions with increasing difficulty. They are finding it pretty tough as it is a hard skill to master but most are now pretty confident in what they are doing.
In English, we have now reached the end of Chapter 7 of 'Journey to the River Sea'. They have looked at the author's use of paragraphs, adverbial phrases, conjunctions and noun phrases and have used our reading skills to summarise chapters within the text.
The children have also been busy learning:
Science - we have looked in more depth at Carl Linnaeaus' work on classification
RE - we've looked at Christianity and what the 10 Commandments mean to Christians
Geography - we compared climate and weather and how this changes depending on the biome
PE - we learnt to do standing triple jump, working on how to perfect the jump
French - we learn the names of some animals found in the garden and asked and answered questions about them.
